EUGENIO GRANELL’S LIBRARY
Granell’s Library, the exhibition curated by Natalia Fernández, Director of the Granell Foundation, will open on March 15 at 8 pm.
The exhibition will highlight the artist’s huge personal library, created by Eugenio Granell together with his wife Amparo Segarra.

The Granell Foundation presents the exhibition Santiago de Compostela in the Granell Foundation, the city where Eugenio Granell spent his childhood and adolescence and which hosts his Foundation.

Every year since the brilliant artist’s death, the Granell Foundation commemorates Eugenio Granell’s birthday with different kinds of events.
This year, the institution will mark the annual tribute with an exhibition entitled Granell in Person, along with a fun activity called “Encuéntrate con Granell.”

For several years the Granell Foundation has celebrated Eugenio Granell’s birthday on November 29; this year, we would also like to pay tribute on his birthday to the artist Amparo Segarra, Eugenio Granell’s wife, companion and undisputed support, with an exhibition featuring works by both of them: Memory of a Vital Encounter, which can be visited until January 13, 2008, and is curated by Monse Cea.

This is a show that reinterprets, from a contemporary point of view, the poetics of the surrealist object: the restoration of the common object, lacking in value as a useful instrument or adornment, which is assigned a new value by means of the plastic procedure of the objet trouvé, rediscovered by the artist.

Work selection pertaining to the Foundation’s ethnic collection of the Foundation. In this exhibit one can see the works of religious popular art of different countries. There are images of Spanish origin and other pieces from the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Mexico or Peru.

IN-SITU is an exhibition space created in 2006. The space is in the Museum’s entrante hall and it is dedicated to emergent artists. The artists create an intervention for the space. This year the three creators Hill be: Iván Prieto, Santi Jiménez and Pablo Orza.
