Opened in January 2001, it is located on the third floor of Pazo de Bendaña; entry is via the building’s main door.

Although specialising in surrealist art, the library also features books on contemporary art in general.

Moreover, it houses Philip West’s collection of books.

The library’s services are aimed at the education community, teachers and students, educators, artists, researchers, museum staff and anyone interested in consulting its books.

Its collection is made up of approximately 4,000 titles and periodicals.

The library’s books are for onsite consultation and cannot be taken home.

Access to books is unrestricted, with a few exceptions for security and conservation reasons.
